BreastfeedingPlace.com is an online community of moms that offers encouragement and support for breastfeeding women. We believe breastfeeding is the healthiest choice for moms and their babies, and our hope is to help our readers learn more about the many benefits and blessings of breastfeeding.
We also understand that breastfeeding comes with its challenges, for some women more than others. That’s why we’re here: to help you make informed choices about nursing even if you have apprehensions or questions—or if you just want encouragement.

Who We Are
Our authors are a mixed bag of mamas—writers, birth assistants, lactation consultants, La Leche League leaders, nurses, work-at-home moms—and we’ve all had our breastfeeding challenges. For some of us, health risks made it difficult to breastfeed. Some of us worked through the challenge of breastfeeding twins (or even triplets). Some of us tandem nursed infants and toddlers. Some of us just encountered a lot of discouragement from those around us. From pumps to preeclampsia to plugged ducts, we know breastfeeding can be hard at times. But we also know it is worth it.

How we started
Trisha Gilkerson of IntoxicatedOnLife.com had the idea to create a series of blog posts about the benefits of breastfeeding, drawing in other authors to share their experiences and advice. What she thought would be a few posts soon turned into an entire series of about 40 posts from 28 different authors. What developed was an online community of women with a passion to help other women in their breastfeeding journey. Soon after, this website was born.
